Dear Family,
Thanks
so much for the letter. Thank you especially for the prayers for
finding. We had an incredible week with finding as a companionship and
as a zone so thank you. Unfortunately, Our main investigators are close
to being dropped. They just won't keep commitments so there is not much
else we can do. But...we did find somebody pretty promising. We met with
Cole finally. I can't remember if I mentioned him before. He is the
referral from another family in the ward). He is 15 and has been asking a
lot of questions so he is pretty golden. We taught the restoration in
the Robinson home for family home evening on Sunday night. It was the
second time that I have taught the restoration to an investigator that a
member has found in the member's home. The other one was Kate. It looks
promising right now so I will let you know what happens.
I
have a really funny story from last P-day. So a few months ago I got my
haircut at some cheap place in Battle Ground. Of course I am not picky
at all when it comes to my hair so I just needed it shorter. Well this
lady destroyed my hair. Absolutely ruined it. haha. I had to do some
trimming up myself to look presentable. So my hair was getting way too
long and I needed another haircut. I asked several members to do it and
they couldn't and I went to a few places in Vancouver and they were all
packed and it was getting late and I needed it cut. The only option I
had was to go to that same little place I got it cut last time. I went
in there praying that it wouldn't be the same lady, but there she was. I
sat down and she looked at my hair and she said, "whoever cut your hair
last time messed up the top. Wow, that looks really bad." Hahahahahaha!
it took everything I could not to just bust up laughing. Then she went
on and on about how she has 17 years of experience and how she can
notice when people mess up hair when nobody else can. Then she asked who
cut my hair last time and I didn't have the heart to tell her. I told
her that usually a member of our church does it and she said, "oh, that
explains it." and she is the one that messed it up last time! What was
worse is she messed it up again! I will send you a picture later. I got
it trimmed up by a member so all is well now. This is the first time I
have had problems with my hair... I am never going there again.
We
had our stake correlation with the Vancouver North Stake. May was the
best month we have had as a stake in a long time. The stake president,
President Randall, is such a good man. He reminds me a lot of Pesident
Kunz. You would do anything for him and he is so excited about where the
stake is as far as missionary work. It has been cool to see the
improvement. Elder Brase and I are getting along gre I don't think I
have met anybody with as many similarities as him. We think the same way
and work the same way and it has been such a blessing. We are loving
the ward and things are starting to pick up.
It
sounds like things are going great at home. I am glad that Carson is
loving baseball (and dodgeball). Austin has a busy summer coming up.
That is so weird to think that graduation has come and gone. The summer
is going to fly by.
The
Cavs are a hot topic around here! I hate it because everybody thinks I
am a band-wagon fan but then I tell them I am a Browns fan as well and
that shuts them up. Tell Grandpa Reiley thanks for the updates. I also
got a letter from Grandma Reiley, so tell her thanks also. Will you ask
Grandpa Hart if he knew any Ganieany's from Idaho Falls. We tracted into
a lady and she said she grew up a member in the 70's and 80's and she
lived close to the temple. She left the church when she was 16 and she
said her family still lives in Idaho Falls. I thought it would be cool
if we could make a connection there.
I
am almost done reading from the Book of Mormon. I didn't read it
straight through, but I marked which chapters I had read. I just have
the ministry of Christ, the war chapters in Alma, and the destruction of
the Nephites. I have learned so much reading from the Book of Mormon
this time than any other time. I can't see how that book can't be
inspired. We met somebody the other day that said Joseph Smith was on
drugs when he had his vision. If we didn't have the Book of Mormon as
evidence, that might sound like a pretty good argument. But we do have
the Book of Mormon and it testifies of Christ and it is the evidence of
the restoration of His gospel and church. The gift of the Holy Ghost is a
real thing. The more we want to know something, the more the Holy Ghost
will give us.
Thank
you again for the great email! I love them. My 11-month mark is
tomorrow! Can you believe it? I hope everybody has a great week and I
love you all!
Love,
Jaxon
