Dear Family,
Let's start with A...
She
was not able to get work off so she missed church this Sunday. There
was also a baptism that we invited her to on Saturday night that started
at 6:00. We were in the parking lot and texted her where to meet us and
she literally texted us back at 5:59 and said she forgot all about it.
It would have been so good for her! It was definitely a blow, but we are
still shooting for September 12th as her baptismal date. Her interview
is this Friday so prayers would be appreciated.
So
I was actually on exchanges when we taught Phx so I was not there, but
apparently it went pretty well. She is still interested in learning. Of
course they couldn't come to church because it was opening day of bow
season (a lot of people didn't come to church for that reason actually),
but it looks like she will start progressing soon.
L
came to church! Her step dad lives with them and he hates that cat as
much as we do! Apparently she got somebody to take care of it. It's a
good thing or else I would have strangled it! :-) She is still doing
well.
So
we have been teaching a 14 year old named I.R. The only ties we have
talked to him is on his doorstep. We haven't met any of his family or
anything. His dad is less-active member and his step mom is not a
member. He texted us about 10 minutes before sacrament meeting and said
he wanted a ride. It was awesome! We are so glad that he came to church.
He knew some of the other young men that were there so that was cool,
too. hopefully we will be able to meet more formally in the future.
We were not able to meet with D or the Ch family this week, so hopefully we get them next week.
We
had a zone conference on Thursday. There is one about every three
months. It was the fifth one I have been to and this was by far the
best. President Taylor is such a great man. I am not even going to try
to describe that meeting because it was so awesome. It was one of
experiences where you had to be there. I guess you will have to wait for
another 10 months! :-)
So does school start
this week or has it already started? Thanks for the football preview. I
hope we have a successful season. Any updates would be awesome! Thanks.
I
got the package with the shoes! Thank you so much. Also tell Renae
thanks for the sweet letter. I also got the picture of John W. Hart and
it is currently in my scriptures so thank you for that as well.
So
something I am going to work on this week is faith. It seems to be
lacking. People say they are going to come to church or do something,
and I'm like, "yeah, right." haha. and then I.R. came to church! So I am
going to try and have more faith, especially in people and what the
Lord can do for them. Thanks again for the email. I hope everybody has a
