Dear Family,
Thank you for the email.
We
had a great lesson with Mike and Teresa this week. We taught the Word
of Wisdom. We were on exchanges so the Elder that I was with had some
personal challenges with that and it really hit Mike pretty hard. He
thought we all had just grown up in the church and never did anything
wrong. Haha. It was an eye opener for him and so coffee shouldn't bee
too much of a problem. They came to church gain yesterday so that was
cool. We met with President Randall (our stake president) on Sunday. He
wants to go with us when we teach the law of chastity. That is going to
be crazy but it will be good.
We
didn't get in touch with the Gonzalez family this week. They are pretty
hard to get a hold of. We are not sure how promising they really are,
but we will see if they ever get back to us.
The
dust has somewhat settled with the new wards. Three new bishoprics were
called. I got to attend the first ever sacrament meeting with the
Battle Ground 2nd ward. That ward is huge! I actually prefer smaller
wards, but it will be fun to work with so many people. The general vibe
is actually pretty good. It is like starting with a fresh slate. We told
the missionaries in the zone that we will be training an entire stake
for the next few months! We will see what happens.
Crazy
connections bout mission calls! I can't wait to see Elder Clark out
here. Elder Brasher goes home in December so maybe him and Justin will
meet up at some point. I haven't had as many connections here in Battle
Ground as I have had in the past. Maybe that means that another transfer
is coming soon. Haha.
Baseball
sounds like it is as crazy as ever! Remember a couple years ago when it
was a four way tie? It always seems like it is so even every year.
Anything could happen. That will be really fun if you get to go to state
again. I can't believe that the school year is winding down! Another
big group of missionaries will be on their way out soon.
Transfers
are in a week and a half. We find out where and if we are going on
Friday. I really hope that we stay together, but I will be good with
whatever. President Taylor hasn't said anything about the Yakima
Mission. I kind of have a dreaded feeling about it. Only eight
missionaries are going over there. If I don't got there this transfer,
then I am in the clear :)
So
for Mother's Day... does 3:00 Pacific time work? Tat means 4:00 your
time. Our church is from 9-12 and dinner is from 5-6. Other than those
times, pretty much anything will work. I can read emails throughout the
week, so let me know what works best for you.
Thanks
again for the email! I can't wait to talk to you on Sunday. I will come
up with some dandy questions:) I love you and I hope you have a great
week.
Love,
Jaxon
